A 3D Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was performed using shell
elements. The overall length of the overhead vapor line was just
under 200'. Spring hangers and expansion joints were used to manage
the excessive thermal growth at operating temperature in excess
of 1000ºF. The analysis also provided pre-tension of the spring
hangers.
