FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF A RECTANGULAR
TUBESHEET
A Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was performed to verify the compliance
of the rectangular Tubesheet to ASME Section VIII Division 1.
Since ASME and TEMA do not have any specific design guidelines
for a rectangular Tubesheet. Paragraph U-2 (g) of ASME Section
VIII Division 1 was used as "an appropriate analysis" to justify
the acceptance of the design by ASME Section VIII Division 1 code.
Therefore a FEA was utilized to verify the adequacy of the design.
2001 ASME Section VIII Division 2 appendix 4 was also used as
a criterion.
