Scud Buster - The air force gets set to test the first anti-missile airborne laser.

Optimum Engineering Solutions, Inc. designed and analyzed one of the largest sphere under vacuum. The approximate diameter of the sphere is 90 feet and supported by legs. Openso also designed and analyzed a very complex duct work. The average diameter of the duct work was about 7 feet. Linear and nonlinear Finite Element Buckling Analyses were performed to insure the structural integrity of the components under the operating conditions. A fatigue analysis was also performed to meet the cyclic nature of the loading conditions.
